Coffeehouse Recital Date Announced

It’s finally fall! With the changing of the weather comes one of our favorite events in the studio- our annual coffeehouse concert. 

This year’s event will be hosted by St. Charles Coffeehouse (note: St. Charles Coffeehouse boasts some of the best coffee, iced drinks, and teas in the St.Louis area- be sure to come thirsty. )

Students will perform a wide range of popular songs, from video game music, to pop tunes. A few students are singing and playing, while others are composing original compositions.

All students are encouraged to participate, and we usually have capacity seating for the event. We’ll be giving students free tickets in the next week to give to their friends  and family.

Studio Pictures

It's that time of year again! We'll be doing studio pictures next week at the end of lesson time. There's no need to dress up- we'll just be taking head shots of each student for our digital yearbook.

Listening House Studios Joins NFMC

This last week Listening House Studios became a full-fledged member of the National Federation of Music Colleges. NFMC is a select group of studios around the nation that participate in contests, evaluations, and showcases for students K-12. Less than 10% of all studios nationwide are members, and it's a great honor that Listening House Studios was among that elite group. 

What does this mean for your child? Here's some of the advantages for students that NFMC includes:

• Performance Contests

• Music festival opportunities

• Composer contests

• National accreditation

• Scholarship opportunities 

All my students are eligible to compete in a festival in April, and I'll be letting you know more details as we get closer to that date. In the meantime, you can check out their website at www.nfmc.com.

New Semester, New Look

Welcome to the new look of Listening House Studios! We've completely overhauled every aspect of listeninghousestudios.org, and we'll be adding more features over the coming months. We look forward to hearing what you think of the new design.

As the summer quickly comes to a close, we'd like to welcome Nicole and Allison L. to the studio. Both girls are from the Chesterfield area, and will be beginning lessons in September. We're so glad you're a part of the family!
